PVP combats will be added to the game today!
Cards take a long time to make and relatively quick to collect, and when the collection is complete there was nothing much to do in the game and it bothered me. I thought Dungeons would be an interesting activity, but it seems like they don't really make for standalone gameplay and are more of a resource supply. So I decided to try a different approach and let you folks fight each other for Honor (and for Tickets!). This is the very basic version of PVP, and I'm looking forward to your feedback!
1. Combat Search
- To activate the combat search, use the "PVP" button and roll. It will be regular rolls until you encounter an opponent. The combat itself doesn't cost tickets. Sorry to say, I'm still forced to tie new features to the roll mechanic for now, since that architecture was laid out from the beginning.
- Matchmaking for now is very simple: your opponent can be anyone whose Honor differs from yours by no more than 75%.
- Before both players confirm ready, they can leave Combat unaffected. If your opponent lefts the Combat before the start, you can wait for a new one or keep rolling.
2. What's The Stakes
- By default, the fight is for Honor alone. The winner gets honor equal to the opponent's honor multiplied by the honor coefficient (currently 10%). The defeated loses the opposite.
- Additionally, players can choose their maximum bet in Tickets. If both players choose to bet, the fight will be for tickets as well. The lowest bet of both players will be selected. As the countdown begins, the tickets will go to pot and will be delivered to the winner at the end of the combat.
3. Combat Basics
- On start, each player gets initial Health, Armor, Mana, and Flow.
- Health: does not regenerate, if it runs out, player is defeated.
- Armor: obtained for mana, expended to absorb damage.
- Mana: gained every turn in an amount equal to Flow.
- Flow (of mana): defines how much mana is gained per turn, can be increased for mana.
- At any time during combat, you can spend mana to obtain Armor, increase Flow, or cast Attacks.
- The amount of actions is not limited and is not tied to turns - the only condition is the availability of mana.
- If the turns are over before one of the players no longer has any health, the player with the lowest Health -> Flow -> Armor -> Mana will be considered defeated (meaning, if health is equal, then flow is compared and so on).
4. Future Plans
- The future of Combats I currently envision is a shift from a few combat buttons to a card system. Players will still spend mana on actions, but the action cards will be drawn from a deck and will be more variable, such as fireball, freezing, and so on.
